  • Laura Jean Goldberg, violin II, is a seasoned chamber music player, solo artist, and teacher. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Goldberg is a member of the Chamber Music Faculty in Juilliard's Precollege Division. A founding member of the Cassatt Quartet, she played with the Cassatt when the ensemble earned prizes at Fischoff, Coleman, and Banff Competitions, held residencies at Tanglewood, Caramoor, Juilliard, Yale, and performed internationally. She has performed as soloist with the BSO, the Wellesley Symphony, and Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra in New Hampshire. Goldberg is also a member of the Sullivan Quartet, the ArtsAhimsa Trio, curates concerts for the Dvorak American Heritage Association, and is founder-director of ArtsAhimsa Music for Peace which has performed and taught at venues in the US, UK, and India. Goldberg studied with Lewis Kaplan at Juilliard and Charles Castleman at the Castleman Quartet Program. She has worked with composers including Henri Dutilleux, George Crumb, Julia Wolfe, Steven Mackey, Philip Glass, Gabriela Lena Frank, Behzad Ranjbaran, Dalit Warshaw, and Eric Ewazen. Goldberg teaches at Belvoir Terrace, a girl's camp in Lenox MA that empowers young women through the arts, and she is a board member of Dvorak American Heritage Association in NYC.
